I am looking forward to hosting this event with my esteemed colleague and guest Paulo Garcia MP.
Paulo is the MP for New Lynn, born in the city of San Juan, part of the conurbation of Metropolitan Manila. After moving to New Zealand, he practiced immigration law with a focus on investor migration with his own firm, Garcia Law. He was declared elected on 16 May 2019 and became New Zealand's first MP of Filipino descent.
In fact, Paulo was the first person born in the Philippines who has been elected to the national legislature of another country.
I am excited to have him in our Upper Harbour electorate office to help us celebrate our Pinoy community, which makes up almost 5% of our multi-cultural and ethnic constituency.
We will have street food catering from Hapunan restaurant and Pinoy traditional drinks!
Hope to see you here on Friday the 8th of November!
Pinoy nibbles provided!
